‘The Lily Pond’ is inspired by a fish pond next door to my Grand parents house. When we’d visit we would jump the fence and watch the fish swim around the Lillies. Done on a black textured background, there are nine sculptural wire Lillies, each with a centre of a cluster of small black seed beads.
When looking at ‘The Lilly Pond’ my hope is it will conjure up the mediative, relaxed state that gazing into the depths of a real lily pond can take us. Time slipping by as ripples radiate from the delicate lilies poking through the inky water.
